A Bit Delayed

Our hosts continue to pitch to be sponsored by Knoebels (still no calls or emails!). Patrick tells us about the successful "Street Brew: After Dark" show he headlined, despite a slight hiccup. They then discuss show riders that they have heard of (slight deja-vu this episode), as well as what they have had in theirs. Patrick & George trade green room etiquette stories, which takes them on a couple of tangents, before George educates Patrick on “cow flop.”

Patrick returns and gives his thoughts on George & Cat’s episode from the previous week. He has never been to Knoebels, but he has worked at Six Flags Great Adventure, and he makes his preference known! The two discuss their likes and dislikes about Great Adventure, Patrick (possibly) makes up an alternate original version of their Houdini ride, and they share moments that solidify that they are no longer, or at least, feel, young.

Patrick is off this week, so George’s wonderful wife Cat jumps in his seat as cohost! They tease a future episode for ABD, and regale us with tales of their favorite amusement park, Knoebels! They love this park so much, it’s not even a sponsor (but you totally could be @knoebels …we’ll even throw in the new slogan for free). They also unpack a little bit of Cat’s childhood trauma, and reminisce about a romantic evening on the Seaside Heights boardwalk.

Cat encourages you to find and support a local Roller Derby league near you! Also, check out the Facebook page she runs, “Abraca-BLAB-ra.”

Patrick announces that he is a part of the first ever Big Tomato Comedy Festival in San Diego, CA, this August 20-23! In honor of that, George brings us another edition of “Gee, That’s Random,” with fun facts about San Diego. Afterwards, Patrick & George discuss how they’re know they’re getting older based on their algorithms and style choices. Check out the only podcast released this week that’s about San Diego, but has nothing to do with Comic-Con!

This week’s guest is professional wrestler Jeff Noise! Jeff tells us about his surprising start in the business; so surprising, he didn’t even know he was going to wrestle until he got to the venue! He goes on to tell us about training with some of today’s top names in professional wrestling, as well as his time with his mentors, including some stories with the late-great Balls Mahoney, who George and Patrick also knew. They discuss how George assisted Jeff into what is now becoming an acting career, with films such as “Happy Gilmore 2,” and “Disclosure Day,” on his list of credits, as well as (at the time of recording) a Best Actor nomination at the Transparent Film Festival for the movie “Turnbuckle.” And at the time of episode release, a WIN for BEST ACTOR at said film festival. Congratulations Jeff!

This week’s guest is a wealth of knowledge regarding magic, Marc DeSouza! Marc takes us through how magic found him and his early days as a performer. The conversation then switches to how he built his collection, which now is on display at The House of Magic in Glenside, PA. Marc shares his wisdom in this near two-hour conversation, which still somehow does not feel like we have even scratched the surface of how talented and knowledgable Marc is.

Patrick informs us that he has just now caught up on nine year old news about the film "Super Size Me," which leads to the boys looking at the film in a new way. They discuss how that film, and other stories, real and fake, have affected the way our county consumes food and drink. George tells us about his favorite tourist attraction he ever went to, The Heart Attack Grill (unfortunately now closed down).
